This paper is focused on library users, but it also tends to describe and understand the changes characteristic of the relationship between libraries and users in the information society: participation in the creation, presentation and sharing of institutional content on the internet, creative participation in library activities and projects, creation and realization of programs according to the needs and requirements of the audience, various forms of volunteering and networking, etc. Analysis of these processes, respecting the concepts of participatory culture, enables the creation of assumptions about patterns of behavior of library users that affect their expectations regarding participation and cooperation in the use of various library services.
