Abstract

This paper details the establishment and activities of a Readers’ Club at the Academy of Applied Technical and and Preschool Studies in Niš. The club aims to promote fiction reading, enhance language competencies among technical students, and position the library as a hub for creative and engaging projects. Through collaborative literary evenings, visits to local cultural institutions, and participation in promotional activities, students improve their reading and develop their creative, communication, and organizational skills, all while sharing a belief in the power of books. The paper provides a concise overview of the importance of reading and the tradition of readers՚ clubs, presents findings from a student survey, and summarizes the club՚s activities to date. This initiative, driven by the enthusiasm of librarians, language and literature professors, and inspired students, successfully links reading with practical engagement and fosters meaningful partnerships.
